Wicked Paradise Basic Info

Wicked Paradise is first virtual reality erotic game developed exclusively for Oculus Rift virtual reality display. This game has been originally developed under name Sinful Robot, but original main investor of this project disappeared so now when the game development continues again they decided to change the name of whole project to Wicked Paradise.

This game will be using full potential of Oculus Rift, because it is designed just for this piece of hardware and so you can really expect amazing experience. Everyone who already tried developer versions of Oculus Rift has been really very excited about it and what the hell would be better for erotic adventure game than virtual reality? “Instead of watching an erotic movie or reading an erotic book in which the main character has exciting sexual adventures, you become that character!” game developers says.

If you want to know why I’m so excited about this game (except that it is developed for Oculus Rift) is that real gaming veterans are working on this title, guys who worked on games like Call of Duty, Rage or Lost Planet. These guys simply knows what good game needs and we can be sure that if such people are working on it, it will be great game.

We still do not know much about the game, but you can be sure that the game will look beautiful and models and their movement will be probably the most realistic we could see in any game so far. Developers cites as major source of inspiration erotic scenes from Mass Effect, which has been many times better than any attempt of erotic game so far. Developers also knows that for good erotic game you need to feel something towards the characters to really enjoy the whole erotic adventure and that is the reason why this game will be divided into chapters.

That is pretty much all we know about the game so far, but come back to this site often to find more info.

This is what we could see in Mass Effect as example, imagine it will look better and you will have virtual reality glasses.

What Is Oculus Rift?

Have you ever seen 3D virtual reality glasses? It really depends how old are you. In 90s these virtual reality headsets were becoming really popular and everyone thought that future of not only computer games, but future of whole entertainment will look like this, some kind of 3D virtual reality glasses. I could write here that it did not happened, but I will not, because that would not be true. Truth is that it did not happen.. YET.

I’m pretty sure that similar devices has great future. They are just next logical step in computer-human interface evolution that started with simple printer or black/white screen and will end in direct connection between computer and brain. Well that is still not even close (even of course there are scientific trials, but it is not working very well even at labs these days, so commercial use is in far future). On the other hand, virtual reality glasses are becoming everyday reality very fast and in contrary to 90s, now we are technologically prepared.

So what is Oculus Rift? It is upcoming virtual reality display (glasses) which is being developed by company Oculus VR. It has gained lot of attention because of its crowd sourcing campaign at Kickstarter. They managed to gain amazing $2.4 for development of this new virtual reality display.

Main developer of this HMD (head mounted display) is Palmer Luckey who does not only have the biggest collection of HMDs in the world, but is also expert in this field. It was him who had the idea to develop head mounted display that would be cheap, but still very effective.

Oculus Rift has 7 inch high quality screen and its field of view is 90 degrees horizontal (110 degrees diagonal) which is more that twice most competing devices has and it is the main reason why it is so extremely popular since the first introduction of developer versions. It is intended to fill almost completely wearers field of view and so give you very strong feeling of different reality. It will use a powerful combination of 3-axis gyroscopes, hi-tech accelerometers, and also magnetometers, which make it capable of absolute (relative to earth) head orientation tracking without any drift.

What is also very important (and what has been big problem in past) is weight of the devices. You do not need to be worried about neck pain, weight of the device is only 379g and very likely every generation of Oculus Rift will be lighter. It has DVI and HDMI input.

Price is yet to be announced.

Release date is some time in 2014.
